Through practical, hands-on exercises, you will explore a variety of ways to use the colour wheel whilst creating your own personalised colour charts and mixing guides to keep as valuable studio references.

This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in colour, from complete beginners to more experienced artists, as the skills developed are transferable across any painting medium.

Discover how to invent landscapes that feel believable, atmospheric, and full of intrigue. In this workshop, we step beyond reference photos, using them as a springboard to create original scenes inspired by imagination, intuition, and painterly play.

Participants will learn how to construct compelling landscapes through transparent glazing, strong tonal structure, layered textures, and expressive mark making. Guided demonstrations and practical exercises will encourage experimentation and help you create landscapes rich in character and feeling.

Open to beginners and more experienced painters.

Gouache is a luscious and vibrant opaque watercolour, and in this workshop, we will explore the unique character of this versatile medium. Gouache can be used to create delicate transparent washes, rich velvety layers, or crisp, bold shapes.

Through a series of guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants will learn essential techniques for working with gouache, including colour mixing, layering, creating tonal variation, and using a range of brushstrokes to develop texture and detail.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained a solid understanding of how gouache behaves and how to use it with confidence to create both small studies and more resolved paintings. The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as painters wishing to expand their skills and explore new possibilities in their painting practice.

This one-day workshop will help you to discover and understand how watercolour works, by introducing you to methods and materials to explore in your watercolour paintings.

Delight in learning a variety of ways to manipulate watercolour, whilst building up a set of skills to master this medium.

We will work through a series of fun and informative exercises which will allow for individual expression within each exercise. Students need to bring their own materials (modest expenditure) and a list will be sent upon enrolment.

Complete beginners are welcome, as are those will some experience with watercolour.
