Enjoy the process of creating artist books that are uniquely yours. In this workshop we will focus on making simple folded books, each one made from one piece of paper.

Participants will be encouraged to develop their ideas and experiment with their own form of personal expression through embellishing the paper surface with painting, drawing, writing, cutting, and collage. There will be ample demonstrations on how to use materials and techniques to obtain great effects.

You will be shown how to construct several different folding books with covers, along with various ways of applying finishing details. These skills will enable you to keep creating your own artist books which can become a one of a kind or the start of an edition. This is also a great opportunity to transform your abandoned drawings and paintings on paper into delightful sculptural objects.

Expect to start 3 to 4 artist books over the weekend and finish at least one book. These books are so much fun to make and can spark new ideas in your creative practice.

This course is suitable for beginners and those experienced in artist book making.
