About Sharon
Sharon is a mid-career artist with a Diploma of Fine Art, who works predominantly as a contemporary watercolourist, as well as enjoying the discipline of drawing and hand-made artist books.
She is also a sought after and highly experienced, engaging teacher who has taught widely as a freelance art teacher, travelling to workshops throughout Australia.
She has held five solo exhibitions in the Northern Rivers region and her artworks have been selected for numerous nationally recognised exhibitions such as FLOW- National Contemporary Watercolour Prize, York Botanic Art Prize and Jacaranda Drawing Award.
As an artist who loves to travel, she has been awarded residencies with “FLOAT,” an innovative floating houseboat studio on Lake Tyers in Victoria (2022), Ateliers Fourwinds in Provence, France (2019) and Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, NSW (2007).
She is held in the collection of Tweed Regional Art Gallery, Fred Genis Lithography collection as well as in private collections in Australia and Overseas.
Her artworks are inspired by the intricacy and beauty of the natural world and she lives and works from her studio surrounded by nature.
