Sharon teaching a watercolour workshop at Byron School of Art
Teaching Philosophy
With more than thirty years of experience as an artist and educator, I have developed my own approach of teaching that inspires, empowers and includes a lot of fun in the learning process.
Whilst Watercolour is my speciality, my teaching extends beyond the medium itself. Grounded in decades of exploring colour, I also teach colour theroy, drawing and artist book construction, supporting students to develop technical fluency, confidence, curiosity, and an authentic visual language of their own.
My workshops keep evolving as I make new discoveries. I hope to see you in one of my workshops soon.
I have taught extensively as a freelance art educator, leading workshops throughout Australia. For three years, I toured outback Queensland and New South Wales as part of the Flying Arts team, bringing creative opportunities to regional communities. Today, I teach workshops in Mullumbimby and beyond, facilitate weekend programs at Byron School of Art (BSA), and am delighted to be part of the team of tutors at NatureArtLab in Canberra.
